good mail day

i just received my calendar from elfrida today and i am so pleased! i had ordered some tags a while back from her and was very happy with them. i love the colors she uses and the geometric patterns are so great.

okay, so i think it's official.  i have the best customers......ever. from the lovely emails and comments i receive, to the feedback left on etsy, i think my customers are awesome. and that's a huge reason why i keep making and selling animals, i really love feeling connected in some way to each customer. i know that sounds cheesy, but i can't help it. it's who i am. 

so, i was delighted to see my little owl on  sweetspot.ca this morning! one of my customer's pitched the story and voila! i also think it's great because it gets some more canadian exposure for etsy. 

so a giant thank you to every customer who has given an animal a new home, who has left me feedback sharing the details of their purchase, who has taken the time to read any of these posts- thank you!! it really means alot to me and it keeps all of this fun and meaningful for me. 

just added

i just added this little elephant to the shop. i'm not sure how many more of these i will be making, since my supply of this particular wool is almost depleated. i wish i could get my hands on more because i love the soft color but we all know how these things go. how many times have you found the perfect lip gloss or tights and then......poof!...they've disappeared? drives me mental. 

anyway, i am searching for some new wools and hopefully in a few months will have some new animals to show them off on. i've been trying to build up my stock levels and at the same time, i'm working on making a few new patterns. but i find it somewhat difficult to switch between the two modes. i find that once i get into production mode, it's hard to turn off. i try to not be too hard on myself though, since my goal is to always enjoy what i'm doing. 

shop update this sunday

who doesn't love the oh-so-popular combo of yellow and grey? i know i do! it's been everywhere for quite some time now, and i'm a little surprised that i haven't tired of it. i'm hoping that none of you have either, because this little fella (along with a couple of friends) will be added to the shop on sunday january 13th at 11:00am (PST). it will be a small update this week, due to my wacky schedule right now.

a big thank you for all of your sweet congratulations on our engagement. it still amazes me just how close you can feel to people that you've never actually met. when i first started this blog i really wasn't sure how i would feel about opening up various aspects of my life, but as time goes by i really enjoying sharing little snips, no matter how small or tedious! it really can cheer me up or comfort me to see a new comment and always such sweet words. in return, i am trying to break out of my shell a bit and leave comments for others, because i now know what a difference it can make. 

well, out of no where i was struck down last night with a nasty cold. but little did it know that i have a few secret weapons in my arsenal. 

1) honey from heather

2) mini honey korean mandarins- delicious AND adorable (each are about the size of a quarter or a $1 coin)

3) organic echinacea tea

take that. 

shop update on sunday

well, after a busy and eventful holiday it feels pretty nice to sit down with a cup of tea and start stitching again. of course i had so many lofty ideas of really stocking the shop and cutting out patterns and creating new animals......but, none of that got done. instead, the holiday was filled with visiting with family and friends, eating delicious food, toasting a few glasses of bubbly and getting engaged. that's right, we got engaged! i feel like i've been living in a haze since it happened. a wonderful, happy haze. it's been hard for me to focus on much else, so, needless to say, not alot of work was done.

but now i'm buckling down and there will be a shop update this sunday, january 6th at 11:00am (PST).

if you can't wait, there are some animals over at the indie fixx shop just waiting to find new homes.
