the weather was so amazing this past weekend, it truly felt like spring had sprung. we were busy running around and doing things around the house. we are planning on painting soon and doing just some general updating. i have grand plans of making new pillows and tea towels and such. i think i'm finally ready to cut in to some of that lotta jansdotter fabric i've been hoarding.
we did manage to fit in some fun things though on saturday morning including breakfast here, using our membership here, and grabbing some macarons here. i also had a chance to wear my new trench. such a steal (well, not literally) from a store in tinseltown. david also surprised me with some tulips on friday, he said "it sounded like you needed them". so sweet.

thank you for all of the new animal love on sunday! it was exciting to unveil him- i have to say that i am pretty pleased with how he turned out.
i am also quite happy with my latest acquisitions. the first being a beautiful orchid, a gift from my friend theresa. she grows them with her soon-to-be husband at their greenhouse. and the second being a new pair of canvas flats from old navy. (i'm sure they will carve up my feet, but the deal was too good to pass up.) okay-spring, if you're listening, i'm ready for you. anytime now. whenever you're ready. i'll just be here........waiting.

there will be a small shop update on sunday february 10th at 10:00am (PST). this little guy will be included-although i've used this japanese fabric before, i haven't used this color-way. i love the different shades of green.
i will also be posting a new little animal! i'm not telling what animal though, it will be a surprise. here is a sneak peak of the fabric being used. a beautiful, rich shade of purple (but not too dark, it was hard to capture with the grey-ness of vancouver) and some fun, japanese polka dots. i've been wanting to make this fella for a while now as a gift for a special lady in utah. i finally got him finished and sent off, so it's almost time to set him free, out into the world.
and here's a glimpse of me at work. i'm doing my best to build up some stock so i've taken to making a few of each style at a time.

i can't stop looking at this new fabric by liberty. i usually wouldn't go for a floral or anything with this much color, but i'm loving the movement in them. i know that if i had my hands on this fabric, i would never do anything with it. i would be paralyzed with the fear of cutting into it in case i ruined or wasted it. is it just me or does anyone else get that way with certain fabrics?
