fall

here are some images i took a couple of weekends ago during a walk through van dusen gardens, before the rains started. a much needed pop of color since its been so grey and rainy here. i'm certain it doesn't look like this anymore.

deep cove

a couple of weekends ago we went out to deep cove so i could drop off an order to room 6.
i took out some giraffes, owls, elephants and a couple of beavers. she has some of them up here. check back for the other items, they may make it into the online shop.

it is so pretty there! and the store was adorable. i could have spent all afternoon browsing, shopping, touching things, taking pictures. megan stocks all sorts of sweet items for the home, to wear, for little ones and to give as gifts.

plus she has a great selection of wool in stock and is having fall knit nights! (i totally want that lamp in the photo, but it wasn't for sale.)

if you are at all in the vancouver area, you really need to spend an afternoon in deep cove. we had some tasty fish and chips at a place called "fish and chip burger" and afterwards we grabbed two maple glazed donuts from honey's. they are THE BEST donut i have eaten. hands down. (needless to say, there was no time for a picture, they were gone in a flash.)

also, if you're looking for a super soft, cute little bat for halloween (or anytime of year) head over to the shop tomorrow, friday october 9th at 9:00am PST. they are stuffed with 100% local wool and are limited edition. i only make about 4 or so each year.

new giraffe

this new giraffe is in the shop now. i love this vintage cherries print and paired with the ivory melton wool, it makes me think of christmas. which is good, since i will be in this year's holiday got craft show. i should probably start doing a little cutting and sewing. but first to finish off those bats!

what the what?

i'm not sure where i found this photo (sorry, i can't give credit to whoever discovered this gem), i don't even have a link to what it was, but i had it on my desktop. it makes me laugh yet scares me a little all at the same time.
imagine, making an octopus out of a wiener! (the word alone makes me laugh. i know, immature right?)

i'm pretty sure i see some kraft dinner in there too.
